Watch Sammy Hagar Take On The Race Track And Jams With Foreigner | Society Of Rock Videos

In a recent episode of Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar, the Red Rocker traveled to Austin, TX, where he is joined by Foreigner members at the Circuit of Americas race track.

After racing cars around the track, Hagar had a chat with Foreigner’s frontman Kelly Hansen. It was their first time meeting each other and being both vocalist of a band, Hagar asked him about the “lead singer disease,” Hansen said:

“You know I’ve heard about lead singer disease. I try to let people know I’m a lead singer once in a while, I don’t want to disappoint them, but I think I’m usually kind of just a normal guy.”

Hansen has been combining the worlds of rock and roll and cooking. He won Food Network’s cooking reality show “Chopped” during the celebrity episode of the cooking competition in 2015.

After talking to the fellow singer, Hagar then interviewed Mick Jones, the last remaining original member of Foreigner. When asked what Jones think about still rocking the stage at the age of 77, he said:

“This year especially, we’ve had this kind of rebirth and it’s amazing. You know the shows are fantastic, they’re nearly sold out everywhere we play and I’m looking at the audience, I’m thinking and I see them with the lights and everything, I think ‘Jesus, I must have done something right.’

“It’s great when you see people, even kids singing the lyrics.”

Jones has written a lot of songs for the band and when asked what’s his favorite Foreigner song, he said:

“That’s a tough one. I mean, really in a way “Feels Like the First Time” set everything up you know and it was special.

“It was the first song I wrote for the band not even knowing I was gonna have a band and I just figured when I had this bunch of songs, I thought ‘what do I do with this?'”

The musicians then jammed the classic “Dirty White Boy.” Hagar did the vocals and Jones played the guitar, while Hansen sang with them in the corner. Watch the full episode below.
