Not Suprising
Ah, Ringo Starr’s drumming – this could spark a debate which could potentially go on for hours. He’s always being called the luckiest drummer ever for landing a gig with The Beatles despite not being the absolute best behind the kit. Sure, there are some who were faster, more technically proficient, more theatrical and dramatic than him. But you know what, it doesn’t really matter others say because he has already proven himself several times.
Besides, if he’s good enough for The Beatles, he’s good enough for us.
In this short clip, you’ll see George Harrison in an interview being asked what he thought of Starr’s drumming. And it’s definitely what you’d expect to hear from someone who has worked closely with him for years. We won’t spoil it for you so you’d have to watch it for yourself.
And the rest of them? Well, they definitely have nothing awful to say about his drumming.
“Ringo’s a damn good drummer. He was always a good drummer. He’s not technically good, but I think Ringo’s drumming is underrated the same way as Paul’s bass playing is underrated…” – John Lennon
Ringo Starr may not be flashy and too much of a standout but at the end of the day, his drumming is just perfect for The Beatles tunes.
