John Lennon maintained a cordial relationship with his former Beatles bandmates until his passing on December 8, 1980. Occasionally, the Beatles would convene during trips to their beloved hometown of New York City.

The last encounter between John Lennon and his fellow Beatles Paul, George, and Ringo occurred within the final four years of his life. Notably, one of these meetings took place merely a month before Lennon’s tragic assassination.

Paul McCartney’s Encounter

On April 25, 1976, an intriguing proposition arose when famed producer and writer Lorne Michaels offered the Beatles $3,000 to reunite on an episode of the American program Saturday Night Live. Lennon and McCartney found themselves spending that evening at the Dakota Building, just a mile away from Rockefeller Plaza. The following day, Paul McCartney made another visit to Lennon’s residence, though their schedules failed to align for a proper reunion. Nevertheless, the two friends maintained communication despite this missed opportunity.

George Harrison’s Meeting

The precise date of Lennon’s last encounter with George Harrison remains uncertain. However, Harrison revealed in a 1990 interview that it occurred two years before Lennon’s untimely demise. During this final meeting, Harrison was taken aback to learn of Lennon’s extensive collection of Indian music cassettes, which he had been incorporating into his musical endeavors since the Beatles era.

Meeting with Ringo Starr

As for Ringo Starr, the last surviving Beatles member to see Lennon alive, their meeting occurred on November 15, 1980. Ringo and his wife Barbara Bach visited New York City just weeks before Lennon’s tragic death, marking the conclusion of a chapter in the enduring bond shared among the Fab Four.
