A Final Show for the Fans

Black Sabbath’s last concert will now be live-streamed so fans around the world can watch it from home. This special event, called Back to the Beginning, will take place on July 5 in Birmingham, England. The performance will feature the full original lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—on stage together for the first time since 2005.

Although Osbourne, Iommi, and Butler have toured together many times, their shows haven’t included Ward in years. Their most recent tour, The End, took place in 2016–2017 without him. This new concert has been called Osbourne’s last live performance. He has faced many health problems over the years, including being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020.

A Star-Studded Celebration

Some of the biggest names in rock and metal will join the show, making it a major celebration. The lineup includes Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, Sammy Hagar, and more. These bands will help honor Black Sabbath and Osbourne in a big way.

Many of the guest acts will not only play their own songs, but also perform covers of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne tracks. Sammy Hagar shared that he plans to play “Flying High Again” from Ozzy’s 1981 album Diary of a Madman. This adds something special to the night, letting fans enjoy both the original legends and those they inspired.

Ozzy’s Role and Performance

Because of his health, Osbourne will likely only appear for parts of the show. Fans shouldn’t expect a full set from him, but he does plan to take part as much as he’s able. On his SiriusXM show Ozzy Speaks, he gave more details: “I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath, but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable.”

Even if he doesn’t sing every song, fans will still get to see Osbourne back on stage one last time.

Where to Watch the Show

Live stream tickets for Back to the Beginning are now available for $29.99 at BacktotheBeginning.com. The show will start on Saturday, July 5 at 3:00 PM BST (10:00 AM EST).
