He’s Apparently The “Party Animal” Of The Band

There was no shortage of drugs during Fleetwood Mac’s heyday and the band members openly talked about it years later. Stevie Nicks previously admitted to her substance abuse that resulted in burning a hole in her nose and in a new interview with Classic Rock magazine, co-founding member Mick Fleetwood revealed that his cocaine habit was worse than Nicks’ – so much so that he can’t even remember two years of his life.

He said, “There’s no doubt we were well equipped with the marching powder. That’s a well-worn fairytale that gets more like a war story, that gets more and more aggrandised. I’m not minimalising the fact that we were definitely partaking in that lifestyle. But these weren’t a bunch of people crawling across the floor with green froth coming out of their mouths, we were working, you know?”

“That went on for a long, long time, Stevie Nicks has addressed it, so I’m not divulging anything that she hasn’t spoken about,” he continued. “It got out of hand way after the making of ‘Rumours’. I remember not working for two years. I can’t even remember what I did.”

Fleetwood also shared that he’s the band’s “party animal” with Nicks as “the close second”.
