Dee Snider has broken his silence following the cancellation of Twisted Sister’s planned 2026 reunion tour, offering fans an unusually candid glimpse into both his health struggles and a profound personal experience that he says reshaped his perspective.

“It’s whatever it is there. It doesn’t talk. You don’t hear voices. It shows you images, and I guess it’s telepathic,” Snider said. He compared the early stages to the familiar childhood sensation of lying in the sun with closed eyes and watching colors and patterns flicker across one’s vision. From there, he explained, the experience deepened.

What began as something he felt he was watching gradually became immersive. “It was like a dream. It was projected in front of me. It was very psychedelic, for lack of a better word, and it was incorporating things that I like,” he explained. “In retrospect, analyzing, I realized it went from being a screen in front of me that I was watching to me being enveloped.”

At a certain point, the imagery shifted abruptly. “It changed and it went dark. I realized I was on an operating table,” Snider said.
