Before the Tour Starts

Before stage lights turn on, Roger Waters says one person must be found: a singer who can carry songs tied to his younger voice. He has unveiled a live production called Legacy: A Pink Floyd Show, built around famous Pink Floyd music. The Harry Waters Band will perform it, and the plan is to take the project on the road in the next few years.

The idea is framed as a family handoff. Wording calls it “The Father’s Legacy, the Son’s Band,” placing Roger Waters’ history beside the group led by his son, Harry. Roger says the musicians and the show are already prepared. Still, nothing proceeds without a frontman. Until that role is filled, the production remains a plan rather than a touring act.

Matching an Earlier Voice

In an online note, Waters explained what kind of vocalist he wants. The search is not for a rock singer. He is asking for someone who can reproduce “the voice I had when I was young,” with reach and feeling. The set list will draw mainly from Pink Floyd’s best-known period, while also adding songs from Waters’ solo work.

He praised Harry for assembling the group, saying his son “has put a great band and show together.” Yet Waters stressed that one piece is missing. The music demands accuracy, but not only that. It also asks for emotion. He pointed to the gap between gentle passages and forceful peaks, using lines from tracks to show how much range the role requires.

Casting Toward Opening Night

That challenge became part of the invitation itself. Waters asked, “Can you do that?” and followed with another prompt about being “that missing voice.” Anyone who believes they can meet the standard has been told to step forward now. Auditions are open, and singers must submit through a website connected to Harry Waters’ team before April 30. Waters did not soften the call. He wrote, “If you are, this is your chance,” then added, “I’m serious,” to make clear that this is a real casting search, not a casual idea. The open approach means applicants are not limited to insiders or stars. What matters is finding a performer who can handle the material at the level the show needs.

Information posted on the audition site says touring is expected to begin in February 2027, though no cities or dates have been listed yet. That schedule shows planning has already moved beyond the concept stage. Harry Waters, known for his work as a keyboardist and live performer, will lead the band. For fans, the draw will be clear: classic songs returning in concert form, shaped by family ties and a new lead voice.
