Out On December

In celebration of what would have been Chuck Berry’s 95th birthday, a new live album titled “Live From Blueberry Hill” will be released. This was recorded in a special place – it was where Berry performed more than 200 shows. And it was also where he played his final gig in 2014.

“Live From Blueberry Hill” arrives on December 17, and it features performances the rock ‘n roll legend recorded between July 2005 and January 2006. Ahead of its release, the cut “Carol/Little Queenie” was dropped on Monday. The LP includes ten tracks Berry recorded with his Blueberry Hill Band. The band featured daughter Ingrid Berry on harmonica, son Charles Berry, Jr. on guitar, bassist and bandleader Jimmy Marsala, pianist Robert Lohr, and drummer Keith Robinson.

According to Blueberry Hill owner and longtime friend Joe Edwards, Berry told him, “You know, Joe, I’d like to play a place the size of the ones I played when I first started out.”

Edwards built a stage for Berry which he called “The Duck Room” after Berry’s signature onstage move.
