Wrapping up their fifth season in grand fashion, the date was May 24th, 2006 when it came down to Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee and just who would emerge as the next American Idol was in the hands of millions of people watching all throughout the US.
Alongside Katherine was Grammy-award winning recording artist Meat Loaf to perform a stunning duet of “It’s All Coming Back Me”. After that, the two would share the rest of the song in gorgeous harmony.
Fun Fact: There were many other artists that were featured on this particular episode such as Al Jarreau, Live, Mary J. Blige, and Toni Braxton.
