The Doors are streaming various takes of their 1970 classic “Queen of the Highway”. It’s the latest preview of the upcoming release of Morrison Hotel: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition out on October 9. The 2-CD/1-LP set features the original album newly remastered by the band’s longtime engineer and mixer Bruce Botnick, previously unreleased studio outtakes and the original LP on 180-gram virgin vinyl.

It will also be available for digital download and on various streaming platforms.

“Queen of the Highway” was inspired by frontman Jim Morrison’s relationship with longtime girlfriend Pamela Courson. It was in the middle of the “Morrison Hotel” sessions when the two had an intense argument after Courson drank his liquor just so he couldn’t drink it.

Meanwhile, “Morrison Hotel” peaked at #4 on the US Billboard 200 in 1970.
