Stevie Ray Vaughan – Leave My Girl Alone – Live From Austin, Texas

Stevie Ray Vaughan – Leave My Girl Alone – Live From Austin, Texas | Society Of Rock Videos

“You better leave my little girl alone!”

We just cannot get enough of Stevie Ray Vaughan and his flawless live performances! Originally made famous by the legendary Buddy Guy, ‘Leave My Girl Alone’ was covered by Stevie on his 1989 hit album, In Step.

Sadly, this would also be Stevie’s last album – he was killed in a helicopter crash the following summer.

Lucky for us, we still get to see Stevie performing in concert footage such as that from Live From Austin, Texas – a retrospective of Stevie’s two appearances at Austin City Limits. Amazing!

Fun fact: Lou Reed of The Velvet Underground loved Stevie Ray Vaughan and loved In Step, calling it one of his favorite albums of 1989.

Great job, Stevie!

+ Leave My Girl Alone lyrics +

You better leave
You better leave my little girl alone
You better leave
You better leave my little girl alone
Lord before I get evil man
And I go and do something wrongYou call my house just yesterday
I picked up the extension
And I heard every word you said
Why don’t you just go on
Man and leave my little girl alone
Lord before I get evil man
And I go and do something wrongYou call my house all hours of the night
Let me tell you mister
That’s a sure, sure way to start a fight
Why don’t you just go on
Man and leave my little girl alone
Lord before I get evil man
And I’m gonna do something wrong
