B.B. King and Russell Jackson – “Better Not Look Down” Live
B.B. King Keeps His Music Alive
B.B. King is well-known for his biting guitar lead — couple that with a powerhouse vocal that never fails to keep everyone at the edge of their seats. This particular live performance is no exception. He sings with such passion and gusto that leaves everyone breathless.
“His is the hardest music to fake because—at its core—it’s pure feeling,” wrote Colin Escott in the liner notes for King’s 1992 four-CD boxed set, B. B. King: King of the Blues.
Just as famous is his guitar, “Lucille” which is also the title of one of his most beloved songs. He received his first guitar from Bukka White, his mother’s cousin. From then on, he has shown great skill and talent in playing with his characteristic style.
“B. B. King is widely recognized as the greatest living blues guitarist,” Dimitri Ehrlich of Interview asserted. “This title derives not only from his mastery of the guitar but from the generosity of spirit he brings to the blues.”
