Rush Thanks Fans For Their Support
It Was A Tough Time For Everyone
After the news of Neil Peart’s passing, fans offered tributes and condolences to both the family and his bandmates Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. Now, the surviving members of Rush took to social media to thank everyone for their support during such difficult time.
They first posted a solo photo of Peart behind the kit with the caption, “Our most heartfelt thanks go out to family, friends, musicians, writers and fans from around the globe for the incredible outpouring of love and respect for Neil since his passing.”
The next tweet is a picture of the band and they wrote, “These touching tributes help to lessen the pain of this terrible loss and remind us all to celebrate his remarkable life and our connections to it. – Geddy & Alex.”
Neil Peart died on January 7, 2020 following a lengthy battle with the most aggressive form of brain cancer – glioblastoma. The announcement was made a few days later on January 10. Since then, tributes poured from all over the globe including those from fellow rockers. Both Lee and Lifeson asked their fans to donate to any cancer research group or charity in Peart’s name.
