Paul Stanley & Gene Simmons Reveal the Stories Behind KISS’ New Patches
The latest KISS Army patches are being positioned as more than simple fan merchandise — they are framed as tangible extensions of the band’s five-decade legacy. In newly released promotional material, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley revisit the stories, memories, and symbolism behind the designs while putting their encyclopedic KISS knowledge to the test. Each patch draws from a specific moment in KISStory, transforming nostalgia into an interactive experience for fans.
A Digital Upgrade for the KISS Army
KissOnline.com has expanded with a suite of new interactive features designed to deepen fan engagement. Additions include a Daily KISS Trivia Quiz, personalized KISS listening statistics, and a custom “KISSified” profile image. Fans can track their listening habits, test their knowledge of the band’s catalog, and see how they compare with other members of the KISS Army.
A centerpiece of the update is the interactive Patch Game. By completing themed achievements, fans unlock exclusive digital patches for their virtual KISS Army jacket. Inspired by classic albums and rare KISS Army memorabilia, each patch is tied to a deeper chapter of the band’s history, encouraging fans to explore the legacy song by song and era by era.
From Digital Badges to Real-World Wearables
For KISS Army VIP members, digital fandom now comes with a physical payoff. Achievements earned online can be turned into real-world collectibles, including the official KISS Army jacket and the patches fans unlock through gameplay. The rollout also includes four new band-member patches honoring the original personas: The Starchild, The Demon, The Catman, and The Spaceman.
Beyond fan engagement, Stanley and Simmons continue to receive industry recognition. As previously reported, the pair have been named 2026 inductees into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The organization cited songs such as “Rock And Roll All Nite,” “I Love It Loud,” “Calling Dr. Love,” “Shout It Out Loud,” and “Christine Sixteen” as defining works from their catalog. The induction ceremony will take place on June 11, 2026, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City and will not be open to the public.
Stanley and Simmons were previously inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2014 alongside the rest of KISS’s original lineup, and the band received the Kennedy Center Honors in December 2025.
KISS officially closed its touring chapter with two final shows at Madison Square Garden in December 2023, the last of which streamed live on pay-per-view. The “End Of The Road” farewell tour began in January 2019, was paused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and was originally slated to conclude in July 2021 following its announcement during a performance of “Detroit Rock City” on America’s Got Talent.
In early 2024, the band sold its entire music catalog, likeness, and brand to Pophouse Entertainment. A biopic, an avatar-based show, and a KISS-themed experience are currently in development, with Stanley and Simmons playing key roles in shaping the future of the KISS brand long after the final curtain call.
