Paul McCartney’s participation in The Rolling Stones’ new material after 18 years has been confirmed.

McCartney and Ringo Starr, the two remaining members of The Fab Four, are expected to perform on The Rolling Stones’ much-anticipated studio album. Although Starr will not appear on the album, McCartney is confirmed to play bass on one of the songs.

The Rolling Stones have yet to reveal the release date of their upcoming record, but it marks their 24th British studio album. It will also feature both Steve Jordan, the band’s touring drummer, and the late, great Charlie Watts, who recorded some drum parts before passing away in August 2021.

In recent months, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have teased the upcoming Rolling Stones songs on social media. Richards previously addressed the fans saying:

“Hi guys, here we are again. Wishing you all a belated Happy New Year and there’s some new music on its way and hopefully we’ll get to see you. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.”

Meanwhile, the Stones paid tribute to their hometown, Liverpool, last year by performing The Beatles’ “I Wanna Be Your Man” during their live performance. Jagger even threw his joke at the crowd when they were initially going to cover Gerry & The Pacemakers’ “You’ll Never Walk Alone” but they “decided instead to do a cover song written by the other local lads.”
