For their newest single “72 Seasons,” Metallica has recently released a series of lyric videos in multiple languages.

Taken from their upcoming album with the same title, “72 Seasons” can be viewed with lyrics displayed in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.

Talking about the album title, frontman James Hetfield said:

“72 seasons. The first 18 years of our lives that form our true or false selves.

“The concept that we were told ‘who we are’ by our parents. A possible pigeonholing around what kind of personality we are. I think the most interesting part of this is the continued study of those core beliefs and how it affects our perception of the world today. Much of our adult experience is re-enactment or reaction to these childhood experiences. Prisoners of childhood or breaking free of those bondages we carry.”

Produced by Greg Fidelman, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, 72 Seasons marks Metallica’s 11th studio album and their first record since 2016’s Hardwired…To Self-Destruct.

Metallica will premiere 72 Seasons with a global listening party in cinemas worldwide on Thursday, April 13 while the release date is set on April 14 and will be available in multiple formats, including 2LP 140g black vinyl, and limited-edition variants, CD, digital, and in Dolby Atmos.
