John Fogerty Is Going On Tour With George Thorogood

John Fogerty is set to hit the road this summer for his Celebration Tour.

The upcoming shows mark the first time the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman will perform CCR songs since acquiring the rights early last year. Fogerty signed away the publishing rights to his work in 1967, the same year the band signed to Fantasy Records which still owns the master recordings of the group’s records.

George Thorogood & the Destroyers will open some dates that will kick off on June 2 in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Fogerty and Thorogood already worked before but this will be the first time they’re going on a tour. Fogerty said in a press release:

“George and I have done shows together before, but for years we’ve talked about doing a full tour together.
“This summer we decided time is short, we better do this now.”

Last spring, Thorogood was forced to cancel some show dates to deal with a “very serious medical condition.” Since then, he has recovered and will embark on a tour on April 5 before joining Fogerty on tour two months later.

After their June dates, Fogerty and Thorogood will perform in Pennsylvania, New York, and Connecticut. Fogerty will also play a few dates with this band without Thorogood as support.

Tickets for the Celebration Tour go on sale March 15 at 10 a.m. local time, with presale tickets available on Tuesday starting at 10 a.m. local time. Check out more information at Fogerty’s official website.
