James Taylor has announced a sweeping 29-date U.S. tour for 2026, structured across two major legs that will see the legendary singer-songwriter on the road in both the spring and late summer. The tour launches in California in April and is set to conclude in Florida in September, marking one of Taylor’s most expansive North American runs in recent years.
The itinerary emphasizes multi-night engagements, underscoring Taylor’s enduring draw in key markets and his preference for extended stays over one-off appearances.
Multi-Night Stands Anchor the First Leg
The opening stretch of the tour includes two-night performances at The Chelsea at Las Vegas’ Cosmopolitan and the storied Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts. Additional stops on the first leg include Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in New York and Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
These venues reflect Taylor’s continued alignment with theaters and amphitheaters known for their attentive audiences and strong acoustics, settings well-suited to his understated, song-forward performances.
European Dates and U.S. Residencies
Following the initial U.S. run, Taylor will head overseas for his first U.K. and European shows in more than three years. That brief international leg begins July 14 and runs through July 23, offering fans abroad a rare opportunity to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer live.
Taylor will then return to the United States for consecutive residencies at Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia, and MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston. The tour’s final U.S. stretch includes a two-night stand at St. Augustine Amphitheatre before wrapping up in Hollywood, Florida. Tickets for the summer 2026 dates go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. local time on Friday, January 16, with full details available through Taylor’s official website.
A Career Defined by Longevity and Consistency
Taylor’s touring announcement follows a period of continued critical recognition. His most recent album, American Standard, earned the Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album in 2021, reaffirming his ability to connect with audiences well into the later chapters of his career.
Perhaps more telling is Taylor’s historic chart achievement: he became the first artist to place a Top 10 album on the Billboard charts in each of the past six decades. The milestone speaks not only to longevity but also to a rare consistency—one built on timeless songwriting, a loyal fan base, and a refusal to chase trends. As the 2026 tour suggests, James Taylor remains less interested in reinvention than in refinement, continuing to let the songs—and the years—speak for themselves.
