“And It’s Hard To Hold A Candle In The Cold November Rain…”

Y’all, we can’t get enough of Steve ‘N’ Seagulls. These Finnish rockers have dazzled us and brought us joy with their off kilter takes on everything from AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” to Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper,” and now they’re extending their repertoire to include a seriously spectacular take on one of our favorite Guns N’ Roses songs, “November Rain”.

The four piece folk act recently filmed a music video for “November Rain” showing them hanging out in front of a cabin and going about their lives and everyday routines, catching fish and brewing moonshine in between trading a few licks and while Steve ‘N’ Seagulls’ cover of this Guns N’ Roses classic is shades away from the fiercely dramatic original we’ve come to know and love, we can’t get enough of it!

Fun Fact: “November Rain” peaked at number 3 on the United States Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it the longest song in history to enter the top ten of that chart

Performed entirely with string instruments, an organ, and a cajón drum, “November Rain” is gifted with stellar harmonies that fill in the empty spaces normally occupied by Axl Rose’s high notes or one of Slash’s guitar solos and somehow, when performed with acoustic instruments and set against a dreary background, “November Rain” becomes something delicate and soft, and we absolutely love it.
