Maiden Goes…Bluegrass?

Metal is a genre that allows for a lot of creativity, especially when it comes to covers. Finnish bluegrass band Steve’n’Seagulls took their cover of Iron Maiden’s ‘The Trooper’ to another level completely when instead of electric instruments, they took on the metal classic using banjos, mandolins, and acoustic guitars, creating a cover that was both wildly impressive and surprisingly close to the original.

Even the way that the banjo player rips through the solo at 2:13 is killer, and is something that translates well to both bluegrass and metal!

Even if this particular cover isn’t your cup of tea, you can’t deny that these guys are incredibly talented and that they definitely breathed new life into this Maiden classic!
