Brilliant Cover Of SRV’s “Testify”

“Testify” was originally performed by The Isley Brothers and written by Ronald Isley, O’Kelly Isley, Jr., and Rudolph Isley. It was recorded on March 21, 1964 at the Atlantic Records Studio in New York City and released on June of the same year. It may not have had a great success in topping the charts but it became more famous when Jimi Hendrix recorded it. It was even included in his compilation album called, “West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology.”

Stevie Ray Vaughan also paved the way for a wider exposure of the song by performing his version and including it in his debut album, “Texas Flood.”
