Mind = Blown
If you thought the theremin was just a creepy instrument used in your favorite 50’s B-movies, prepare to have your mind blown! Thanks to German theremin master Carolina Eyck, we’ve got a brand new appreciation for this strange electronic instrument as Carolina uses it to bring Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven” – and more specifically, Jimmy Page’s solo – to life in a way we’ve never seen or heard before; using only her hands to manipulate the air around the theremin, Carolina absolutely nails the little nuances that make a song like “Stairway To Heaven” so incredibly special and leaving us to wonder just how the hell she bends the air the way Jimmy bent those strings!
Fun Fact: A serious master of her craft, Carolina Eyck regularly joins the Berlin Philharmonic and has even written a book on the theremin.
Man, we sure do love when people find new and brilliant ways to bring us the songs we’ve loved for decades, and Carolina’s take on “Stairway To Heaven” is no exception! Be sure to check it out in the video below but be warned – this is the coolest thing you’ll see all day!
