From biting bats to snorting ants, Ozzy Osbourne turning 76 on December 3 feels like a miracle. After all, who else gets kicked out of a heavy metal band for partying too hard? The legendary Black Sabbath frontman lived to tell the tale, earning his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Recently, Ozzy shared a wild Christmas story that only he could deliver.

“I F*cking Hate Christmas”

If you caught The Osbourne Family Christmas Special in 2003, you already know how Ozzy feels about the holidays. Spoiler: he’s not a fan.

“I’ve been saying to Sharon forever, ‘F*ck Christmas, I hate it,’” Ozzy revealed in 2022. “It’s for shopaholics and kids, so I’ve always wanted to work through Christmas.”

Not one to mince words, he told The Sun:

“I f*cking hate Christmas. It gets right up my a**hole.”

He went on to share a legendary story about his drinking days: “When I used to do booze and get f*cked up, I bought a barrel with 28 gallons of booze for me. I drunk it before it was Christmas f*cking Eve.” For comparison, the average American adult drinks about 28 gallons of alcohol in a year. Leave it to Ozzy to beat that in just a few days.

Ozzy: “Not Completely Sober”

Ozzy has been open about his struggles with addiction, heading to rehab as early as 1974. “I thought I’d be drinking to the day I die,” he told Variety in 2021.

Though happier now, Ozzy admitted on the Madhouse Chronicles Podcast that he’s “not completely sober.” He occasionally uses marijuana, but his wife Sharon helps keep him on track.

“I’m lucky my wife kicked my butt all the time,” he said. “She would f*cking make life so difficult.” Reflecting on his past, Ozzy shared with guitarist Billy Morrison, “There came a point when you and I said, ‘You know what, this ain’t getting me anywhere. Surely, there’s something better than this.’”

And for Ozzy, there always is.
