Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor joined Sarah Brightman and X Japan’s Yoshiki on the biggest show on Japan, “Kohaku Uta Gassen”. They performed Yoshiki’s composition “Endless Rain” with both May and Taylor playing from their respective homes in the UK. Watch it below.

May said in a statement, “This is such a beautiful project. I’m proud and honoured to be a part of it. Respect to Yoshiki!!! And wishing you all a great New Year.”

Taylor added, “Have a beautiful New Year to all our fans in Japan.”

And Yoshiki, who performed from Los Angeles, shared: “I am very honored and grateful to be performing Endless Rain at Kohaku again this year. I wish I could go to Japan but with the global pandemic, I have remained in Los Angeles since February. Therefore, I will perform remotely this year. I feel honored and grateful to be performing with Brian May and Roger Taylor, and Sarah Brightman and all those Japanese superstars. I hope that through the music, we can give everyone courage. I look forward to the performance.”

This isn’t the first time Yoshiki collaborated with a member of Queen. In 1994, the influential Japanese composer co-wrote “Foreign Sand” with May.
