During the coronavirus pandemic, we’ve been seeing a plethora of musical collaborations from various rock legends. Thanks to technology, they can get together virtually and record in their respective homes.
Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt recently shared on his Facebook page a cover of Heart’s classic hit “Barracuda” for the AXS TV special At Home and Social with Nuno Bettencourt & Friends.
For this rendition, he teamed up with Heart’s Nancy Wilson on guitar, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins on drums, Derek Frank on bass, and Liv Warfield on vocals.
Bettencourt wrote, “This is my directors cut in which I gave the video just a little extra love on the editing side it deserved. I remember my younger self hearing Barracuda on the radio and stopping everything I was doing To really vibe with it. This song was super influential on me.”
He added, “The groove. The riff. The solo… so tasty and memorable I just had to stay true to it for you.
And an incomparable vocal performance from Anne Wilson … that many few females can pull off till this day. But as you’ll hear here… Liv certainly did it more than justice.”
