This “Stairway To Heaven” Cover By Young Duo, Will Leave You Wanting More
And She’s Buying….
At such young ages, the confidence exuding off of these young talents is quite refreshing. 11-year-old Shayla and 13-year-old Jake stun the crowd at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ performing Led Zeppelin’s most famous song “Stairway To Heaven.”
“There’s a lady who’s sure all that glitters is gold and she’s buying a stairway to heaven.”
Shayla’s vocals are spot on as she channels her inner Robert Plant, belting out these iconic lyrics with such poise and control. Granted the pitch is not in the arena of Plant, but for such a young lady, she can really deliver a great performance.
Fun Fact:Â The lyrics came to Robert Plant in a flash of inspiration when he and Jimmy Page were sitting by the fireplace at Headley Grange with Page strumming the intro chords.
We especially enjoyed her humorous sarcasm in the beginning “Everybody knows this song, you’ll know what it is when you hear it..” We think that Plant would have gotten a kick out of hearing her say this, don’t you?
