With Love From:

The Traveling Wilburys is most likely the best combination of performers, besides The Band. Composed of the great Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Jeff Lynne, and Roy Orbison, these gentlemen are the perfect combination of talent and vocals, especially in this “Handle With Care” music video that displays the collaboration wonderfully.

“Been stuck in airports, terrorized, sent to meetings, hypnotized, overexposed, commercialized…Handle me with care…”

As the first single released by the group, “Handle With Care” was originally supposed to be released as a single, however, the men realized how perfect their collaboration was and decided to release an entire album. The lyrics behind the story of the song seem to relate to a man pleading for a woman to handle his heart carefully, claiming that he has been tossed around and messed with somewhat like the indelicate process of mailing packages and envelopes.

Interesting Fact: “Wilbury” was a slang term first used by Harrison during the recording of Cloud Nine with Jeff Lynne. Referring to recording errors created by some faulty equipment, Harrison jokingly remarked to Lynne, “We’ll bury ’em in the mix”.

There is nothing more beautiful to us than the combination of sweet voices, talented musical work and friendship behind the scenes and that is exactly what the Traveling Wilbury’s were. Enjoy this video and we hope it really takes you back to a simpler time!

+ Handle With Care Lyrics +

Been beat up and battered ’round
Been sent up, and I’ve been shot down
You’re the best thing that I’ve ever foundHandle me with care
Reputations changeable
Situations tolerable
But baby, you’re adorable
Handle me with care
I’m so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won’t you show me that you really care

Everybody’s got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I’ve been fobbed off, and I’ve been fooled
I’ve been robbed and ridiculed
In day care centers and night schools
Handle me with care

Been stuck in airports, terrorized
Sent to meetings, hypnotized
Overexposed, commercialized
Handle me with care

I’m so tired of being lonely
I still have some love to give
Won’t you show me that you really care

Everybody’s got somebody to lean on
Put your body next to mine, and dream on

I’ve been uptight and made a mess
But I’ll clean it up myself, I guess
Oh, the sweet smell of success
Handle me with care
