The First Ever Official ELP Book Is Out

Back in April, prog rock supergroup Emerson, Lake & Palmer announced that they’re set to release their first official book this year via Rocket 88. It was created by Carl Palmer with the help of the families of Keith Emerson and Greg Lake – Palmer’s bandmates who both passed away in 2016. It features previously unpublished interviews, rare photographs, recordings, and so much more.

It’s currently available for pre-order and fans can choose from three editions – Classic, Signature, and Ultimate.

“This is the definitive Emerson, Lake & Palmer book. There are photographs which I’ve never, ever seen before — can you imagine, after all this time?,” Palmer said in a press release. “This is the story as it happened, as the group told it, because it’s in our own words. What a fantastic book.”

In the video below, Lake’s wife Regina announces the book’s preorder and describes how it was “a real pleasure” to look over hundreds of photos.

Rocket 88 calls it “the book that ELP deserve – grand, opulent, rarified and spectacular” and shares that “the text is illustrated throughout with classic, rare, private and recently discovered photos of ELP at work, rest and play”.

Palmer admitted that there are pictures that he himself has never seen before.
