It’s no secret that Ozzy Osbourne had experimented with a variety of substances throughout his rock star life, and just recently he revealed the interesting reason why gave up on acid.
In a recent interview with Daily Star, the rocker shared that after trying acid, he had an hour-long conversation with a horse. He recalled:
“At that time in America, people were very fond of lacing your drinks with acid. I didn’t care.
“I used to swallow handfuls of tabs at a time. The end of it came when we got back to England. I took 10 tabs of acid, then went for a walk in a field. I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour.”
Then something happened that made him realize to stop doing acid. He continued:
“In the end the horse turned round and told me to fuck off.
“That was it for me.”
Fast forward to 2013, the Prince of Darkness had a relapse with drugs and alcohol. A year after that, he announced his sobriety. He explained at that time:
“I did what I did when I was 21 and I did what I did when I was 30, but now I feel better today than I did in a long time and I’m 66.
“There’s no mysterious fucking hex from Satan. To be honest with you, I just really like being sober.”
In 2020, Osbourne released Ordinary Man, his first album he admitted doing while being completely sober. Now, the singer is set to release his latest solo record, Patient Number 9, which will be coming out on Sept. 9 through Epic.
