Steven Tyler – Dream On – American Idol

Steven Tyler proves he still has what it takes to rock the stage
This is why Steven Tyler is a rock legend. While he is 67 years old (GASP), he can easily sing better than anybody, anytime, and still looks and sounds just as good as he did- if not better- than he did when he was younger.
In 2011, Tyler took to the American Idol stage were he performed the classic hit, “Dream On“, just prior to the announcement of the Season 10 winner on the popular singing show. Beginning the performance on the piano and slowly drawing the crowd in- he abruptly stands up, and reminds the crowd just exactly who they are watching.
Every time the song is about to climax with Tylers hard hitting high notes, you can feel the energy in the room dramatically increase with anticipation– anxiously awaiting that final “Dream On” chorus.
“Dream On” remains a classic and an influential song in rock history. Some may say it’s the best rock song of all time- along with Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven“, but thats to be debated. Check out why I think this song takes the cake, below!
+Dream On lyrics below+
Every time I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face getting clearer
The past is gone
It went by, like dusk to dawn
Isn’t that the way
Everybody’s got their dues in life to pay
Yeah, I know nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it’s everybody’s sin
You got to lose to know how to win
Half my life’s
In books’ written pages
Lived and learned from fools and
From sages
You know it’s true
All the things come back to you
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good lord will take you away
Yeah, sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me, just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes true
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream until your dream comes through
Dream On Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On
Dream On Dream On, AHHHHHHH
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away
Sing with me, sing for the year
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tear
Sing with me just for today
Maybe tomorrow, the good Lord will take you away…
