Adler Tackles A Use Your Illusion Classic For The Very First Time

Steven Adler may not have gotten to play more than two shows with Guns N’ Roses this summer, but the time he’s spent practicing has absolutely paid off! The drummer was spotted earlier this week hanging out with Sumerian Records founder and CEO Ash Avildsen in the comfort of his home, and took some time to get behind the kit and show the world how it’s really done in a video Ash posted to his official Instagram that sees Steven jamming a few Guns N’ Roses tunes, including one we’ve never heard him play – “You Could Be Mine”.

Featured on Use Your Illusion II, “You Could Be Mine” showcased the talents of former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, who was tapped to fill in for Steven when he was unceremoniously bounced from the band for his drug habit. 26 years later and sober as a judge, Steven’s drumming is better than ever and we can’t tell you how awesome it is to hear him rocking “You Could Be Mine” for the very first time, thankfully caught on camera by Ash Avildsen. With the crazy schedule ahead of Guns N’ Roses, who knows – maybe Steven will get his big chance to bring this Use Your Illusion II classic to the stage!
