Son of Bonzo, Jason Bonham, Performs Tribute Solo For His Father And It Is Incredible | Society Of Rock Videos

Fulfilling His Father’s Dream

John Bonham, drummer of Led Zeppelin, was a family man that struggled with the complexities that fame brought into his life. His life long dream was always to play with his son, Jason, on stage and on November 6, 2010, that dream became a reality.

Jason, taking after his father, became a drummer at the age of four with incredible innate talent at such a young age. He appeared in the film The Song Remains the Same with his father, the late Bonzo, and has played with Plant, John Paul Jones and Page on a few different occasions on behalf of his dad.

Fun Fact: Jason played with Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and Jimmy Page at his own wedding reception, as well as the Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary.

This talented young man also played with Airrace, Virginia Wolf, and the Firm with  Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers.

Side by side again, the screen depicts Jason joining his father on stage after all these years and it is glorious.

He has led quite an extraordinary life and just watching him perform this drum solo at the Merriam Theatre in Philadelphia, as a dedication to his father, gives us chills.
