She’s Only 12 – But What This Drummer Does With A Metal Classic Is Absolutely INSANE!

Okay, so at 12 years old Alexey Poblete is officially much, much cooler than I was at her age. The YouTube drum prodigy is in her 4th – soon to be 5th – year of drumming, and it seems like with each passing week Alexey grows even more talented than we thought possible! While she’s admittedly a tremendous fan of Canadian prog rock giants Rush, it looks like Alexey’s got a bit of a soft spot for all things heavy metal and judging by the cover you’re about to watch, she does it justice, too.

Fun Fact: Alexey’s talent is currently being molded and honed by drumming legend and mentor, KISS’ Eric Singer.

Her cover of “Raining Blood” by metal giants Slayer is just as hard rockin’ as we knew it would be; with nearly 4 minutes of fast-paced double bass and cymbal action, Alexey’s take on this metal classic is not only wildly impressive, but incredibly fun to watch as her performance makes you wonder just where she found the energy to do all of that at one time – on one drum kit! Even better is the mile-wide grin spread across her face, showing us that this drumming powerhouse is not just a force to be reckoned with, but a normal kid with an intense passion for music.
