Santana – “The Calling” Live
A Masterpiece Track Featuring Eric Clapton
“The Calling” was written by Santana, Linda Graham, Freddie Stone, and Chester D. Thompson. This song was included in Santana’s 17th album, “Supernatural.” This album was certified 15x platinum in the United States alone and was a global hit upon its release.
I remember him releasing one amazing track after another and ALL the songs in this album just blew me away!
- It begins with an acoustic guitar that slowly transitions into electric.
- A hidden track, “Day of Celebration” is included and starts to play 12 seconds after “The Calling” fades out.
The album also sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and won 9 Grammy awards. Aside from Eric Clapton, other famous music artists featured are Rob Thomas, Cee-Lo Green, Dave Matthews and Eagle Eye Cherry. It topped the charts and broke records which made it one of Santana’s most unforgettable works. Even until now, years later, his songs are being covered by musicians and still well-loved.
This is definitely one of his most successful albums (and a favorite of mine as well)!
