“What a beautiful, unique soulful experience late last night with this homeless man in Las Vegas. He called my name as I walked by,” Hagar shared. “I was surprised so I stopped to say hello and help him out with a little cash.”

“He told me a story how he was at the launch of the Van Halen 1995 Balance Tour in Pensacola Florida he told me what I was wearing that night, things I said,” Hagar explained. “Remembered Jon Stewart introducing us. This man was intelligent, kind, spiritual, and elegant.”

The Balance Tour began on March 3, 1995, at the Pensacola Civic Center, supporting Balance—the band’s tenth studio album. Released earlier that year, the record featured notable tracks like “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” and “Amsterdam,” and marked a commercially successful chapter during Hagar’s tenure with the group. “We talked for a while, and it was enlightening for me to realize how many people like him, families, etc., that have become homeless I can see it,” he said. “I just don’t know what to do about it.”
