He Sent Her A Check

Rod Stewart sent a surprise gift to a nurse trainee who spent 22 days attached to a ventilator at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff after contracting the coronavirus. He gave her a check of £5,000 ($6,052) to help pay for her hospital bills. The student, 35-year old Natasha Jenkins from Barry in south Wales, was in a coma for weeks after being positive for COVID-19 and developing pneumonia. A video of her emotional reunion with her three kids went viral.

Apparently, the rock icon saw it and got in touch with her. He even sent a handwritten note on a photo that read: “Hi Natasha, a small gift to help you through the rough times.”

She’s not out of the woods yet since she now requires a walking aid and she will need to undergo 12 months of rehabilitation.

She told Good Morning Britain, “He sent me quite a substantial bit of money to help me through the times I’m going through. That was amazing – obviously I can’t work at the moment. I’ve had to take time off from university, so it’s a massive help. I’m a single parent with three children.”

Check out the viral video and her interview below.
