Ringo Starr leads over 100 drummers to cover The Beatles “Come Together”. Max Weinberg, Pearl Jam’s Matt Cameron, Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, Cindy Blackman Santana, 11-year-old YouTube sensation Nandi Bushell, Mike Portnoy, and many more took part on WhyHunger’s new “Drum Together” campaign. This charity aims to end world hunger.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of such a unique collaboration for an important cause,” Cameron told Rolling Stone. “There’s nothing like the power of a good beat, and it’s great to see that so many musicians across so many genres and backgrounds were able to come together to support WhyHunger’s mission.”
This effort was executive produced by Brian Resnick and Dom Famularo and arranged and co-produced by Randy Waldman. Funds raised from the video will help address global hunger with community-led solutions.
“We all can agree that no kid should be hungry, and everyone should have access to nutritious food,” Starr said in a statement. “This is a great cause that I’ve supported in the past and a great track — one of my favorite Beatles songs. So when Jim Keltner asked me to join all these other drummers I was happy to.”
