His First Solo Live Performances in Two Decades

Queen drummer Roger Taylor has announced a new solo album, Outsider, and a solo tour this 2021.

Since Queen + Adam Lambert’s UK tour has been moved to 2022, Taylor will instead embark on a series of shows in intimate venues. It kicks off on October 2 at Newcastle’s O2 Academy and wraps up on October 22 at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire. His setlist will be a mix of Queen classic hits and his own solo material.

Meanwhile, Taylor recorded Outsider during the lockdown and is dedicated “to all the outsiders, those who feel left on the sidelines.” It is due out on October 1, 2021 via Universal.

“I’ve had a bit of a creative spurt and suddenly found myself with an album, which was lovely,” Taylor said. “It was a surprise! I just found myself in the studio and they came out one after the other. It was a pleasure really.”
