The Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music has revealed the artists who will be celebrated at its fourth annual American Music Honors event. This year’s honorees reflect a wide range of musical styles and historic influence, bringing together voices from rock, punk, pop, and hip‑hop.
The awards will take place in April at Monmouth University, where musicians and industry figures will gather to pay tribute to careers that have shaped American music over many decades.
Honorees From Across Genres
Among the artists being honored is Patti Smith, whose work in the mid‑1970s helped bridge punk rock and poetry with a bold artistic voice. Smith’s music and performances have inspired generations of musicians and writers.
The Doors, known for their influential late‑1960s work, will also be recognized. The band blended rock, blues, and experimental sounds on classics that remain central to rock history. Their music continues to be discovered by new listeners.
Joining them on the list is Dionne Warwick, a singer whose career in pop and R&B spans decades and includes many chart successes. Her elegant phrasing and vocal precision have made her one of the most respected artists in popular music.

Additional Honorees and Tributes
The event will also honor Dr. Dre, a producer and artist whose work helped shape modern hip‑hop and launched the careers of many performers. His influence on music production and rap is widely recognized.
The E Street Band, Bruce Springsteen’s longtime backing group, will be celebrated for its role in rock history. The band has supported Springsteen’s work for over five decades and become legendary in its own right.
In addition to these living honorees, the event will include a posthumous tribute to The Band, whose members helped expand roots music by mixing folk, blues, country, and rock into a unique sound.
Ceremony Details and Presenters
The American Music Honors ceremony is scheduled for April 18 at the Pollak Theatre on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey. Tickets will go on sale to the public on March 18.
Stevie Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul will serve as the evening’s house band, playing music throughout the event. Veteran news anchor Brian Williams will host the ceremony, guiding the audience through performances and speeches.
Presenters include Bruce Springsteen, who will present awards to Patti Smith and Dionne Warwick. Van Zandt will honor The Doors, producer Jimmy Iovine will present to Dr. Dre, and Springsteen’s longtime manager Jon Landau will honor the E Street Band.
