It was first reported in March that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne has decided to leave Los Angeles and head back home to the United Kingdom.
At that time, the couple said their reason for leaving is to avoid the high tax rate in the United States. But during a recent interview with The Guardian, Osbourne explained:
“Everythingโs fucking ridiculous [in the U.S.A.].
“Iโm fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concertโฆ Itโs fucking crazy.”
The Prince of Darkness continued, noting the LA cemetery:
“And I donโt want to die in America. I donโt want to be buried in fucking Forest Lawn.
“Iโm English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said weโve got to go and live in Timbuktu, Iโll go.”
Sharon clarified that their move had nothing to do with her husband’s declining health. She said:
“I knew people would think that. Itโs not [related].
“Itโs just time. America has changed so drastically. It isnโt the United States of America at all. Nothingโs united about it. Itโs a very weird place to live right now.”
The couple and their family had been living in the States for more than 25 years. Their Beverly Hills mansion has become popular because of their early 2000โs reality TV show โThe Osbourneโs.โ It is located in LAโs exclusive Hancock Park neighborhood and is currently on the market for an asking price of $18 million. Ozzy said in March:
“We are leaving LA. We are a bit sad. But the tax is getting too much.
“I am sad because I really really like staying and living there.”
Meanwhile, Ozzy is all set for the release of his new album, Patient Number 9, coming out on Sept. 9.
