One-Armed Guitarist Gives Incredible Performance of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’ ! | Society Of Rock Videos

You Have To See This To Believe It!

It’s difficult enough to attempt a Jimi Hendrix cover with two arms; I can’t even imagine how difficult it must be to attempt it with one arm. Not only does street performer and multi-instrumentalist Marc Swafford attempt a cover of Jimi’s ‘Voodoo Child’, he absolutely dominates it! He effortlessly glides his away along the fretboard of his guitar, pulling forth a sound that would have Jimi himself asking him, “Hey brother, how’d you do that?”

Musically Gifted And Spiritually Strong

Swafford grew up in a musical family and was determined to continue playing after losing an arm in a car accident. As one article puts it, “Physical therapy and tremendous internal spirit combined to create an amazingly brilliant lead guitar, bass guitar, dobro and banjo player.”

This is one that you definitely have to see to believe! When Marc isn’t blowing away small crowds on the street with his performances, you can find him playing in his bands Mahamawaldi and Bitter Root Range, projects that really capture the full range of what he can do!
