Their First Show in Six Years
The Black Crowes brought the house down last November 11 as they played their first concert at the Bowery Ballroom in New York for the first time since 2013. They played their debut LP Shake Your Money Maker in its entirety and also added a cover of the Rolling Stones’ 1974 classic “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll (But I Like It)”. On the same day, they also announced a massive 46-show reunion tour in 2020 in celebration of Shake Your Money Maker‘s 30th anniversary.
Their 60-minute set kicked off with “Twice as Hard” and it’s clear from the get-go that they were back in the game.
Frontman Chris Robinson told Rolling Stone, “I think this is pure. We went off into a lot of things. There’s no jamming. There’s no extraneous stuff. This is the purest Black Crowes that people first [heard] … I hope we reconnect with some people who lost their way with us because of all of our other shit we were doing.”
On November 14, they will perform at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. Their tour will start on June 17, 2020 at the Austin360 Amphitheater in Austin, TX and wrap up on September 19 at the Forum in Los Angeles.
