Ahead of their 50th anniversary and the start of a new season this November 16, Sesame Street celebrated the milestone by enlisting the help of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. The iconic rockstar joined Big Bird and Elmo to sing “Here We Go.” Before launching into the song, Grohl said: “It’s nice to come here and be with my friends, Big Bird and Elmo. You know, I was just thinking. There’s friends everywhere, even the ones that you don’t know.”
He then added, “I just mean there’s lots of people all across America we could be friends with. We just haven’t met them yet.”
Grohl and his friends travel around US as they perform “Here We Go”. It was revealed last year that he recorded a track with Big Bird and Elmo after photos of them together surfaced online. Back in 2015, he appeared on The Muppets and engaged Animal in an epic drum battle.
Grohl recently attended the 5th Annual Bowl for Ronnie last November 7 at the Pinz Bowling Alley in Studio City, California. Along with other rockstars and celebrities, the event aimed to raise funds for the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund. Grohl said, “Over the years, I’ve run into Wendy [Dio] and I’ve done a few things, including a barbecue thing for her, here and there, so it feels right to be here with a bunch of fellow musicians for a good cause.”
