Good News!

Though Axl Rose has been doing a splendid job of taking over as AC/DC’s frontman (even temporarily, at least), who can forget the one who’s been rocking out with Angus Young and the rest of the boys since 1980? Yes, we were so heartbroken when we heard Brian Johnson was at risk of total hearing loss unless he stops touring immediately. But, it seems like all is not lost for the legendary rockstar.

The founder of Asius Technologies, Stephen Ambrose invented the in-ear monitors but stopped selling it in the 90s when he found out that the earbud “can cause permanent hearing loss — even when used at what may be considered to be reasonable listening levels.” Now, he has partnered with the National Health Foundation and 64 Audio and together they have managed to create a patented in-ear technology called the ADEL (Ambrose Diaphonic Ear Lens). Unlike his first device, Ambrose claims that this new one has deeper bass sounds, richer high sounds and overall louder sound even at low volume. Therefore, listening devices using ADEL techonology has minimal risk to hearing damage.

Because Ambrose is one of the millions of fans who want to see Brian take the stage again, he said he’s hoping that his invention will allow Brian to “return to the stage, and that, frankly, is something everyone really wants.”
