Mick Mars, the legendary guitarist for Mötley Crüe, has filed a lawsuit against his bandmates, claiming they have withheld information regarding the band’s business dealings. Mars, who reportedly owns a 25-percent share in the band, has accused the three other core members of demanding that he sign a severance agreement that would deprive him of future interests in the band. In return, Mars would receive a five-percent stake in the band’s upcoming 2023 tour. According to legal papers obtained by Variety, Mars also accuses bandmate Nikki Sixx of “gaslighting” him about his guitar skills diminishing over the years. Mars claims that while he played his parts live during the band’s most recent tour, the other members relied heavily on backing tracks. The papers allege that Sixx’s bass parts were recorded, and that Neil’s vocals and some of Lee’s drum parts were pre-recorded.
