Check It Out – They Killed It
Metallica have shared a professionally-shot footage of their performance last October 10 at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, CA. They had two headlining sets at the event. Watch them go all out for “The God That Failed” from their 1991 “The Black Album”. The band recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of the said LP by reissuing the record along with a covers album, “The Metallica Blacklist”. They also played the album in full for their set at Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky.
Covid-19 protocols were in place at the Aftershock Festival. The organizers required a proof of vaccination or a negative test.
“From the beginning of the year, as long as we were going to be allowed by the local authorities, we were going to be bringing this event back and we were going to be doing it safely,” chief marketing officer Chamie McCurry said in a statement. “It’s a truly unique experience for METALLICA fans to be able to see them two nights, never repeat a song. Two completely different sets.”
“This is something that’s part of history,” he added.
Metallica also streamed their performance video for “Of Wolf and Man”, which you can watch below.
