Small Shows Close Out a Big Year
Metallica has announced two special U.S. shows set for November 2026 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. These dates will close out the band’s touring schedule for the year and are described as “intimate” by the group, given that they normally play much larger venues. The announcement came alongside details about opening acts and ticketing plans.
The shows are scheduled for Nov. 19 and Nov. 21, with crossover thrash icons Suicidal Tendencies set to perform on the 19th and 2020s breakout band Spiritbox opening on the 21st. In a press release, Metallica said: “Just as we’re getting ready to head out on the road for the first shows of ’26, we’ve added two more gigs to the calendar to wrap up the year.” Tickets for the single dates and two‑day options will be available starting April 10 at 10 AM ET, with box office sales at Mohegan Sun beginning April 11. Members of Metallica’s fan club, known as Fifth Members, can access a presale on April 8 at 10 AM ET with a code from Ticketmaster.
A Big Year With Few U.S. Stops
Metallica’s 2026 tour already includes a substantial run overseas before the band returns to the United States. Their first show of the year will be May 9 in Athens, Greece, kicking off a series of European and U.K. dates through July 5. After that leg, the band will take a break before resuming performances in October. On Oct. 1, Metallica will begin their extended residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, which is scheduled for 24 shows and was first announced to extend into 2026.
The two Mohegan Sun Arena shows in November will be the only U.S. concerts outside the Sphere performances for 2026. Metallica fans in North America who want to see the band in a smaller setting will have a rare chance with these arena dates. Ticketing and Access Details
Ticketing options are structured to give fans multiple ways to attend. In addition to single‑day admissions, two‑day passes will be offered for those who want to see both shows. The presale access for Fifth Members is a benefit for the band’s fan club, offering early chances to secure seats before general sales begin. Fans planning to buy tickets at the venue can do so starting April 11 at the Mohegan Sun Box Office, while all other sales go live on April 10.
In past years, Metallica has had a wide range of opening acts and supporting artists on tour, reflecting both legacy names and newer performers. The addition of Suicidal Tendencies and Spiritbox continues that trend, pairing the band with groups that appeal to different segments of the metal audience. As the 2026 schedule continues to take shape, longtime followers are watching closely to see how the year’s shows differ from Metallica’s usual large‑stadium fare.
Looking Ahead
For fans tracking the full tour schedule, Metallica’s website provides details on every planned show for 2026 and into 2027. The combination of large‑scale Sphere concerts and these smaller‑venue performances makes for a unique balance in the band’s live plans for the year. With dates spread across several continents, the group’s global reach remains strong even as they narrow their U.S. stops to just two intimate arena nights outside the Sphere.
