Little Kid Blows Judges Away With “Don’t Stop Believing” | Society Of Rock Videos

This Kid Nails Journey’s Top Song

“Don’t Stop Believin'” was released in the US on October 6, 1981 for Journey’s seventh studio album “Escape.” It peaked at number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It has been used several times by some television series, movies and shows thus contributing to its popularity. And although it wasn’t that much of a big hit in the UK after its first release on December 1, 1981; it reached number 6 on the charts in 2009!

Mike DeGagne of AllMusic has described “Don’t Stop Believin'” as a “perfect rock song” and an “anthem”, featuring “one of the best opening keyboard riffs in rock.”

Being Journey’s most enduring track, it has been covered quite a number of times by other musicians and even Alvin and the Chipmunks have their own version of the song! But you have to hear this kid from the Philippines, Nathan, crush his rendition and wow the judges during the Blind Audition for The Voice Kids. Just prepare to have some major feels! Love the soul he puts into his performance!

+ LYRICS +

Just a small town girl
Livin’ in a lonely world
She took the midnight train
Goin’ anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Goin’ anywhere

A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlight people
Livin’ just to find emotion
Hidin’ somewhere in the night

Workin’ hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Payin’ anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win
Some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Strangers waiting
Up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching
In the night
Streetlight people
Livin’ just to find emotion
Hidin’ somewhere in the night

[Instrumental interlude]

Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on
Streetlight people
Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlight people
