This isn’t frontman Dave Grohl’s only holiday offering this year as he collaborated with producer Greg Kurstin for their “Hanukkah Sessions” where they covered a diverse set of songs by Jewish artists – The Beastie Boysโ€™ โ€˜Sabotageโ€™, Drakeโ€™s โ€˜Hotline Blingโ€™, Mountainโ€™s โ€˜Mississippi Queenโ€™, Peachesโ€™ โ€˜Fuck The Pain Awayโ€™, Bob Dylanโ€™s โ€˜Rainy Day Women #12 & 35โ€™, Elasticaโ€™s โ€˜Connectionโ€™, and The Knacksโ€™ โ€˜Frustrated.โ€™

Foo Fighters are also prepping their new album “Medicine at Midnight” which comes out on February 25, 2021. According to guitarist Chris Shifflet, “Itโ€™s definitely a little different than anything weโ€™ve ever done before and itโ€™s a little bit different than anything else on the record, although the record has a lot of songs that are, you know, groove-based like this one is. Daveโ€™s a drummer so heโ€™s always coming up with rhythmic twists and riffs based on rhythms that he hears in his head.”

Grohl also told Kerrang!, “Our love of rock bands that make these upbeat, up-tempo, almost danceable records inspired us to make the album that we did. To me, thereโ€™s songs on the record that are rooted in Sly & The Family Stone, or David Bowie, or The Power Station, and things like that. We sort of relied on a lot of these really energetic references and influences to put this one together โ€“ and we surprised ourselves.”
