They Teamed Up For A 2020 Project

Peter Green, best known for his work as a member of the early era Fleetwood Mac, joined forces with Metallica’s Kirk Hammett to launch a special book and music project, due later this year.

A few days ago, Hammett took to social media to share two photos with Green – first with Green holding a signed vinyl copy of the Metallica masterpiece “Master of Puppets” and second with both of them clutching the iconic 1959 Gibson Les Paul guitar called Greeny which Green initially sold to Gary Moore 47 years ago but has since been owned by Hammett.

In a statement to Planet Rock, Rufus Publications revealed what the two rock legends have been working on. In fact, Hammett recently flew to UK to record at Abbey Road Studios. He’s just one of the guest musicians who will be featured on Green’s project.

Rufus Publications added that it “is nearing completion and will be released later this year and will include several guest musicians playing on some unique recordings.”

Abbey Road Studios also posted photos of Hammett and captioned it with: “It was a pleasure to have @KirkHammett from @Metallica in our Front Room studio this week, recording guitars with producer Rob Cass and Abbey Road engineer Chris Bolster.

The Metallica guitarist was using Peter Green’s legendary ‘Greeny’ 1959 Gibson Les Paul.”
